I, Faria Kabir, a first-generation immigrant and daughter to Bangladeshi parents, Humayun Kabir and Tohin Azad, started The First Generation to provide immigrant families with the support that we all need to succeed as Americans. As a family, we have worked relentlessly for our accomplishments, despite language barriers and knowledge gaps. My parents, Humayun and Tohin, were once employees at Dunkin’ and Subways. Now they have two very successful careers and are homeowners to multiple income properties. Therefore, we want to provide other immigrant families with the necessary support to also be successful. With over two decades of experience in immigrant needs, I have created this non-profit organization to equip families with the skills and knowledge to make the best decisions for their growth and accomplishment.
